• Extracted 10 years of Billboard song data, categorized into popular and unpopular.
• Downloaded songs via YouTube API and Pytube, storing them yearly.
• Extracted choruses with Pychorus and analyzed 11 key spectral features, generating 518 features per song.
• 📊 Exploratory Data Analysis:
• Conducted univariate and correlation analysis using distribution plots and heatmaps.
• Treated outliers and skewness to refine the dataset of 999 rows and 520 columns.
• 🔧 Feature Engineering:
• Applied PCA and T-SNE for feature selection, reducing dimensions to 59 and 50 features respectively.
• 🤖 Model Building:
• Implemented Random Forest, KNN, XGBoost, and CNN for binary classification.
• Achieved training accuracy of up to 95% pre-tuning, but testing accuracy indicated underfitting.
• Post hyperparameter tuning, achieved a balanced accuracy of around 65-75%.
• 🏆 Model Selection:
• Chose Random Forest for its robust performance across accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and ROC-AUC.
